80% of New Year’s Resolutions Fail – Here are 3 Snacks That Will Help You Keep Yours
Now that we’re more than halfway through the first month of this glorious New Year, it’s probably a good time to ask –
How are those resolutions working out?
If you’ve fallen off the wagon, you’re not alone. Research shows that upwards of 80% of New Year’s Resolutions fail.
If you’re dead set on not becoming another New Year’s casualty, you need more than just good intentions.
First, make sure you can identify your Why – the reason behind the changes that you want to make.
Whether it’s to be more focused and productive at work, to set a better example for your kids, or just to look great at the beach this summer, you need a compelling reason that will sustain your motivation for each goal.
Second, make sure you’re not setting yourself up for failure by creating an unrealistic plan – or worse, no plan at all.
What do we mean? Eating healthier is a great goal but if you hate broccoli, don’t plan to eat raw broccoli at every meal. If you want to work out more but hate running, don’t plan to run a half marathon.
Create a plan you can stick to by arming yourself with easy ways to make your goal more enjoyable.
Since we’re Snack experts, we’ve put together this quick list of healthy snacks that will help you make keeping your resolutions that much easier.
Get Back in Shape – Balance Bar Mint Cookie Crunch & Wonka Dark Chocolate Pecan Turtle
There’s a good chance that you resolved to live a healthier lifestyle in 2017. Losing weight and/or eating healthier is the most common New Year’s resolution, gracing the lists of 1 in 5 of those who make them.
But making the resolution and keeping it are two very different things.
Balance Bar is here to help. Balance Bar isn’t just a catchy name. Each flavor is formulated to provide balanced nutrition in every delicious bite.
They do it by adhering to their 40-30-30 nutrition plan. This means that on a macronutrient level, each bar contains 40% complex carbs, 30% protein, and 30% dietary fat. This mix produces a slow glycemic response and provides sustained energy and muscle recovery throughout the day – without midday crashes. All this in less than 200 calories per bar.
Oh and did we mention they’re crazy delicious?
Their mint cookie crunch bar combines chocolatey goodness with a crunchy cookie base, while their pecan turtles mix decadent-tasting (and antioxidant-rich) dark chocolate with crunchy pecans and creamy caramel.
Have one with your morning coffee or throw one in your gym bag and you’ll see what we mean.
Drink Less – Dark Chocolate Covered RayZyns
Love the taste of vino, but trying to cut back a little in 2017?
Instead of another glass of Merlot, reach for delicious RayZyns from the Wine Co.
RayZyns are specially dried Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot wine grapes. Sustainably harvested in California at their peak, RayZyns are dried on the vine with the seed intact, making for an unexpected nutty crunch.
Not only do these gourmet treats offer a distinct, complex taste once reserved only for vintners, they’re low calorie, high in fiber, and naturally rich in heart healthy antioxidants.
Be More Adventurous – GimMe Roasted Teriyaki Seaweed
Sick of the same old routine? Looking to mix it up in 2017 with a big adventure, but not sure how?
You can’t run without first learning to walk. Start by going on a culinary adventure.
GimMe roasted teriyaki seaweed are the perfect gateway to more adventurous eating – and a more adventurous lifestyle.
These 100% organic roasted seaweed snacks are crispy, briny, and offer an exotic teriyaki tang.
But they’re not just delicious. Japanese Nori (edible seaweed) has been harvested since the 8th century for its nutrition. At just 25 calories per serving, Nori benefits include outsized doses of calcium, iodine, iron, and other essential minerals, and more vitamin c than oranges. Nori also passes along its anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory properties.
So take a taste-cation before you venture out on your next vacation.

“Make sure you’re not setting yourself up for failure by creating an unrealistic plan – or worse, no plan at all” – I think this is very important to remember when trying to eat healthier. You can’t change your eating habits overnight, so baby steps are a good way to start.
My kids are crazy about Seaweed-that same brand. Funny how the healthy snack craze has even hit our kids (I love that!).
